Our small-group trips blend iconic literary landmarks with hidden gems and local experiences, making every journey immersive, fun, and unforgettable. Our Story
Page Turner Tours was born from a desire by the founder to share both a love of books and a love of travel with others. Inspired by the rise in spicy romances she was already enjoying she went looking for group trips that mixed spicy books with real-world adventure. Spoiler: there weren’t any. Zero. Not one trip where book lovers could chat annotations and laugh about who remembered to pack travel-size lube.
She saw a gap in the market and decided to fill it. Thus, our Wanderlust series was born: spicy romance travel for book lovers who don’t just highlight the steamy scenes, they pack for them.
But Shae didn’t stop there. Because it wasn’t just the spicy stories that deserved a boarding pass. There were literary legends, dark academia icons, swoony historicals, and magical worlds waiting too. And so, Page Turner Tours expanded into a full-blown travel company with four themed trip series—each curated by book lovers, for book lovers.
Every Page Turner Tour is designed for small groups of readers who don’t just want to see the story—they want to live it. To find Jamie beyond the standing stones, to pass through Platform 9 ¾, to tumble down the rabbit hole, get approached at a Regency ball by Mr. Darcy, or meet a morally gray villain in a dark alley and make terrible decisions.
We specialize in once-in-a-lifetime, all-inclusive, book-fueled experiences for curious, clever, and passionate travelers. We know you could read anywhere. But we’re here to help you book your adventure.

At Page Turner Tours, we believe every reader deserves a place in the story. Our trips are built for book lovers who want to explore the world in small groups, with curiosity, laughter, and respect leading the way.
- Accessibility
- We recognize that not every historic library, cobblestoned street, or centuries-old castle is fully accessible—and unfortunately, we don’t control medieval city planners (we’ve asked). But we do everything possible to make accommodations so disabled travelers can share in the adventure.
- When a site isn’t fully accessible, we’ll be upfront about it, and where possible, provide alternative experiences so no one is left behind in the plot.
- We’re committed to continuous learning: listening to feedback, improving our practices, and expanding our partnerships with venues and guides who prioritize accessibility.
- Inclusivity
- All travelers are welcome on our tours, full stop. We celebrate travelers of all genders, sexualities, ages (with exceptions for trip/content minimum age requirements), races, religions, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Our small group size isn’t just about intimacy—it’s about creating a safe, welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable sharing the magic (and the snacks).
- We intentionally select stories and destinations that highlight diverse voices, authors, and histories—because literature and travel both open doors to perspectives beyond our own.
- Diversity
- We acknowledge that some literary icons and fandoms come with baggage (cough J.K. Rowling cough – see specific note below). We believe it’s possible to love the worlds we grew up reading while being critical of the author’s harmful views. Our Magical Memories trips focus on the joy of shared stories and magical settings, while actively rejecting transphobia and supporting inclusive values.
- As we grow we plan to prioritize highlighting marginalized authors and underrepresented stories in our itineraries, so the “canon” of our tours reflects the full spectrum of human experience.
- Diversity is not a box we tick—it’s woven into the narrative of what we offer, from the books we choose to the local guides and experiences we support.
- Magical Memories & Page Turner Tours: A Note on Inclusion
- At Page Turner Tours, we welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. We celebrate stories that explore the full spectrum of human experience—the good, the bad, and the beautifully messy. Fiction and nonfiction alike teach us, inspire us, and sometimes challenge us.
- We know JK Rowling’s series has captured the hearts of millions. The books are full of magic, adventure, and characters we love—and some darker elements that make us think. At the same time, we do not support the transphobic views expressed by J.K. Rowling.
- Our goal is to create safe, inclusive spaces for fans of the world she built to immerse themselves in the stories, the characters, and the world—without endorsing harmful beliefs.
- Page Turner Tours offers trips that let you experience the magic of the books and filming locations without financially supporting JK Rowling if you choose not to. You can remove a visit to Warner Brothers London Studio Tour Experience – where some small proceeds do go to Rowling through licensing agreements – but this is entirely your decision and we will provide a fun alternative itinerary for the day for those that choose this option. We respect your choice, whether you go, skip it, or explore secondhand options for your bookish and Wizarding World purchases and experiences. And we will not allow anyone to judge or harass you for it.

Our Founder
Shae Pepper is a professional wanderer, passionate educator, and lifelong bookworm with a knack for literary puns and an alarming number of passport stamps. With a Master’s degree and an educator’s heart, she has spent her career turning curiosity into connection. Her wanderlust has taken her around the globe for over 20 years including, most recently, a 7-year, 50 state road trip.
Shae’s reading career began early. At age 3, she memorized Go, Dog. Go! and performed it with such dramatic flair that adults were convinced she could read. The ruse didn’t last long, but the obsession with books did. From board books to bodice rippers, her love for storytelling has always shaped the way she experiences the world.
She founded Page Turner Tours to combine her two greatest loves: books and travel.
